Yum-Yum

Selah helped me mix up the batter for our heavenly banana bread. I explained that it was for Daddy to take to work for a special lunch so we wouldn't be able to eat any. She agreed and just enjoyed the preparation process.

She checked on it periodically as it baked and filled the house with it's yummy aroma. Finally, I took it out of the oven and set it on the counter to cool.

She started in with Daddy, begging for a bite.

"No," he said. "I'm sorry, that's for Daddy to take to work tomorrow."

She was not happy, continued to ask for awhile then apparently accepted the very unacceptable outcome. Then, a few minutes later, this:

Selah: What's that smell?

Mom: What smell?

Selah: That chocolate pumpkin smell.

Mom: What's that?

Selah: It means I want of piece of that bread!

Ha ha. So cute. I wish I could hear her in person. You might have to "interview" her and put an audio on the blog! Or do a vlog entry now and again!

On the bread... next time make a batch and a half and use that in a mini loaf pan for her and mommy to share! :)

Believe me, she gets plenty of home made goodies to share with Momma. In fact, one of our favorite things is eating cookie dough together as we sit in bed and watch Little Bear!
